Ibrahim Fullah was thrilled to be awarded Valley Gold Young Player of the Year after the Addicks' 2-1 success over Hull City at The Valley on Saturday.

After collecting his award, the 19-year-old academy graduate said: "It's definitely unexpected, but I'm so grateful for the award! There are so many special names that have won this award, just being one of them is great. Tyreece Campbell who I have grown up with is on it, so it's great to be on that list. I'm so grateful!"

The 2025/26 campaign marks Fullah's breakout season as a Charlton player. The academy graduate has made 13 appearances across all competitions, scoring twice in the Carabao Cup.

"There has been a lot of ups and downs - that's inevitable in football. You can only control the controllables and that's what I've done until I had my opportunity. When I did, I had to take it," he explained.

"I've done a lot of learning in what it takes to be a first-team footballer - I would say it's taken a lot of hard work and sacrifice, and I've gained a lot of maturity along the way.

"Having confidence, patience and that support system of the coaches, staff members and players as well, the whole group is a great bunch of players, my family, everything comes together to help me and I'm really grateful.

"As a team we know what we're capable of and we can achieve it. It's been a really good season."

Charlton fans can support the academy by signing up to the Valley Gold scheme. Valley Gold enables fans to support the club’s academy in unearthing the talents of tomorrow, as well as giving them the chance to win cash prizes.
