Lloyd Jones was crowned Charlton Athletic’s Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year following Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Hull City at The Valley.
The defender has claimed the club’s Player of the Month award for five months running after an impressive season of performances for the Addicks, culminating in a double sweep of this year’s awards.
"It feels amazing [to secure Championship status]," he told CharltonTV. "This year has felt more stressful for me than going through the play-offs last year! There have been some sleepless nights and a bit of anxiety about it, but it was great to get it done," Jones explained.
"I thought we played alright in the first half, I thought we had some decent chances. We got the goal with Charlie [Kelman], which was an unbelievable finish!
"We conceded just before half-time, which was quite tough mentally, but we were resolute today," he added.
"Fevs [Jayden Fevrier] provided a bit of magic to get the second goal and we managed to get the job done."
Jones secured consecutive Player of the Year awards, as well as this season's Players' Player of the Year, adding to the accolade he earned after last season’s promotion-winning campaign.
"It means more to me this year - it’s been a tough year. We\ve had some tough moments and we've had some great moments. I'm delighted to get some recognition off the fans and my teammates, but I care more about this team staying in the Championship," he said.
"I can’t wait to go again, I've absolutely loved playing in the Championship this year and I think everyone else has. We keep going now, go and get the rest and then we will come back in pre-season and go again."
