Garner looks ahead to Wycombe trip

Ben Garner wants to see his side put their stamp on proceedings against Wycombe Wanderers at Adams Park on Saturday.

The Addicks head to Buckinghamshire buoyed by a three-match unbeaten run across all competitions.

"I've said from day one that we don't set up differently to play at home or away," explained the manager. "We're going to have the mindset the that we're going to win each and every game - that's the way we're going to set up and that's the way we're going to play.

"Hopefully that win on Tuesday will give confidence because nothing breeds confidence like winning games and hopefully we can go on to have many more away wins this season."

Garner was full of praise for Wycombe boss Gareth Ainsworth, the second longest-serving manager in the EFL.

"They have got a really strong squad," the gaffer said. "Gareth has done a really good job there over a long period of time. He has been able to establish an environment and a culture that he wants,  and they have got a clear identity and DNA.

"They have got a lot of Championship players within their squad from being in the Championship, coming back down and going close last season," he added. "We know what they are good at; they are a really good side at this level and we have to go there full of respect, but we also need to go there and try and play our way and put our identity on the game as much as we can."

Garner explained the defining influence that the travelling Addicks can make at Adams Park this weekend, with almost 1,400 supporters having snapped up their tickets.

"We've got a great following going and it's a good away end at Adams Park," said the boss. "You get a good atmosphere and that will make a big difference in the game, especially when we're kicking that way. Bring the noise, bring the passion and hopefully we can have a good afternoon."

Asked for an update on how his squad is shaping up for the trip to Buckinghamshire, Garner said: "Pretty good. We're recovering with one or two, but nothing was picked up from Tuesday so we're in a pretty good place going into tomorrow."
