Garner's pre-Burton injury update

Ben Garner has issued a positive update on the fitness of injured duo Diallang Jaiyesimi and Miles Leaburn.

Both players have been sidelined since October with ankle injuries sustained against Colchester United and Exeter City respectively.

“Miles is progressing well," said Garner. "The closest to being back is DJ. He was out on the grass running yesterday which was fantastic to see.

"Miles is running but on the AlterG – the anti-gravity treadmill. I believe he’s due to start doing that [running on the grass] on Monday which will be good. That will be a nice step forward for him.

"DJ will be the first one back and then Miles after that. Those two should both be back well in advance of Christmas hopefully."

The manager reported no fresh injury concerns ahead of Saturday's Sky Bet League One encounter at Burton Albion.

“We’re as we were on Tuesday night to be honest," he said. "No additional injuries or worries from that so we’ve just got the longer-term injuries and it’s as we were aside from that.

"We’ve just got to do well as well as we can in the meantime and then when we start getting these players back they’re going to be like new signings. They’re going to be real boosts to the group and they’ll strengthen us up, but there’s a nice focus and a nice resilience from everyone else at the moment to keep as much momentum as possible and win as many football games as we can.”
