New signing Alex Gilbert shared his delight after completing a loan move to Charlton from Sky Bet Championship side Middlesbrough.
The attacking midfielder, who is comfortable across the frontline, has featured 10 times for Michael Carrick's play-off chasing Boro side this term and netted a last-gasp winner in a 1-0 victory at Hull City on New Year's Day.
"I'm buzzing to finally get it done and finally be down here," Gilbert smiled. "Hopefully I'll get involved with the lads in the next session, get training and get ready for the games.
"Nathan Jones has been a big part of the reason that I've come. He's obviously a good, experienced Manager who has managed at a very high level, so it's been good talking to him. He's definitely sold it to me to want to come here."
The 23-year-old revealed that there are a few familiar faces within the men's first-team squad.
"I know Cov [Coventry] from Ireland - I've trained with him a few times," he explained. "I was at West Brom with Thierry [Small] but he's younger than me, so I don't think we spoke much. It's always good to know a few faces."
Asked about his attributes as a player, Gilbert said: "I'd say I'm a creative player who likes to get on the ball and make stuff happen, assist goals and hopefully score goals as well, and do my best for the team.
"I've seen the lads play now and it looks exciting. I'm glad to be a part of it. I'm hoping I can only add to that now, help improve things however I can and we'll see where we end up at the end of the season."
Gilbert admitted he is relishing the prospect of making his debut at The Valley on Saturday as the Addicks aim to continue their play-off push.
"I'm massively looking forward to Saturday," he said. "Charlton's obviously a big club and from what I've heard the stadium's really nice, so I'm looking forward to playing in front of all the fans!"
