Charlton Athletic are delighted to confirm the signing of Gillian Kenney, who becomes the latest addition to Karen Hills’ squad ahead of the upcoming campaign.
The 22-year-old midfielder makes the move from Providence College, where she earned a host of accolades including being named a NEWISA All Star Team, Big East Honor Roll, Freshman Team, Second Team and Third Team!
Speaking after putting pen to paper, Kenney said: "I'm very excited. I’m really looking forward to being in a new environment and having the opportunity to play here. I'm over the moon."
The American believes her previous experience has equipped her well for the next step in her career: "I think it’s prepped me by giving me experience and a skill set, especially the technical ability that I can bring to the WSL2."
Looking ahead to her first season in English football, Kenney is eager to make her mark: "My goals are to make an impact as a brand new player, develop a good relationship with the team, and overall just try to do my best."
Kenney joins a Charlton side full of ambition as preparations continue for the 2025/26 season.
