Jones: 'Everything that we do is an evolution'

Nathan Jones spoke of his side's evolution ahead of Saturday's crunch clash against Wrexham.

The Addicks equalled a club record of 20 league clean sheets in a season during Monday's 4-0 triumph over high-flying Wycombe Wanderers.

"Everything that we do is an evolution," the gaffer explained. "We keep saying about keeping clean sheets, defending well and providing a platform and a base to then go on and evolve into an attacking, fluent side.

"We’re a very good attacking side - we can be a little bit more fluent at times but, again, that’s part of the evolution process."

Jones confirmed that the club's appeal against Chuks Aneke's red card has been unsuccessful, but revealed that Daniel Kanu will return to the matchday squad following an ankle injury.

"He's in the squad and he’ll travel with us this week, so that’s a bonus."

Asked for the latest on Luke Berry and Lloyd Jones ahead of this weekend's trip to north Wales, he said: "It was a bruising game so we’ve had to dust them down this week. Everything’s going to be touch and go before the weekend, so we’ll just see. We’re going up there in good spirits and if anyone doesn’t make it, it’s just another opportunity for someone else."
