Jones: 'It was a real tough game'

Nathan Jones was proud of his team as they stretched their unbeaten run to four games with a battling point against Swansea city at The Valley.

"It was a real tough game today," the gaffer said. "The first half was even, but I thought we had the better chances and their keeper made a couple of good saves.

"The injuries to two centre-halves, two defenders caused a real disruption. We had to reshuffle the pack there with that, and we had to change shape which we don’t normally do."

“We started the second half, we get a goal and we hope that we can go on from there, but then Swansea came back into the game and controlled the game better than we did and that is something for us to learn.

"In the end we had to make sure that we stayed in the game and that we didn’t lose and that's what we did today."

Charlie Kelman netted his first goal for the Addicks, and Jones shared his delight.

"That will be more for him than anyone else to get that monkey off his back of the first goal. Hopefully now, strikers thrive on runs and hopefully he can go on and do that for us."

The Addicks are back at The Valley on Tuesday night for the visit of West Bromwich Albion. Click here to purchase your tickets now!
