Nathan Jones praised Matt Bloomfield's impact at Oxford United as he previewed Saturday's Sky Bet Championship clash at the Kassam Stadium.
The Addicks, who have earned back-to-back victories over Birmingham City and Middlesbrough, face an Oxford side that have won their last three games on the spin.
"It's been an important week so far and that obviously culminates with a massive game tomorrow," Jones said. "There's no time to take a breath or anything really - we come straight from recovery to prep and then to play."
"I expect a real stern, tough test, a different test from [Oxford] but no lighter test than we had in midweek.
"Matt [Bloomfield] has done fantastically well since he has gone to Oxford. Three wins in any league, but especially the Championship, is fantastic form. We know that we're going to have the toughest of tests tomorrow.
"We want to finish as high in the table as we can, wherever that is. This is a journey - we feel the Championship isn't our destination, it is a journey. If you take your foot off the gas or you're complacent in any way, you get hurt, and we can't afford for that to happen."
The gaffer provided an update on the fitness of his squad, including goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski who has missed the last three fixtures with a hamstring injury.
"Thomas is back training with us," Jones revealed. "We've come through Wednesday unscathed, we haven't picked up any fresh injuries. The effort has taken its toll on some players, you have to use your squad and we've proven we can do that in midweek."
The Addicks will be backed by a sold out away end in Oxfordshire this weekend.
"The fans have been outstanding," said the gaffer. "At Christmas time we were away four times out of five, and then to have Wednesday games and an early kick-off this week, the schedule demands from players and it demands from supporters. They have been magnificent, and we want to reward them for that."
