Nathan Jones is expecting a challenge when his side take on Coventry City at the Coventry Building Society Arena on Saturday (KO 3pm GMT).
The Addicks are on the road again this weekend and are looking to get back to winning ways in the Sky Bet Championship.
"We've had a tough three fixtures, up until the Wrexham we were fifth in the league. We had three games where we've been considerably stretched, and we cannot afford to be stretched at this level as there are some fantastic sides.
"We've come up against two very good sides, when we haven’t been at our strongest."
"We've been missing Matty Godden and Charlie Kelman who score goals in the side and we've been missing Josh Edwards and Amari’i Bell on that left side," Jones explained.
"We have a stronger squad going into Saturday than we did on Tuesday. Onel [Hernández] had a tight hamstring on Tuesday and we have Amari’i back, so we have different threats and options."
The Addicks will be backed by a sold out away end in Coventry on Saturday.
"The fans have been magnificent," he said. "Just stay with us, around the context of these defeats. It was going to be difficult coming up to the Championship, and we want to be ultra-competitive. We want them to be a part of the journey - it's a fresh stage in the journey."
