Nathan Jones says his team are relishing every single moment of the 2025/26 Sky Bet Championship campaign.
Following their opening-day victory over Watford, the Addicks return to The Valley on Saturday to take on newly-relegated Leicester City.
"There aren't many teams in the Championship who haven't been in the Premier League - it's probably a good quiz question!" said Jones. "Week in, week out we're going to have ex-Premier League challenges and teams that have finished high in the Championship, but this is the league.
"It's a fantastic league, it's a wonderful league, it's a challenging league and we're relishing every single moment of it.
"We're getting big crowds for August, which is notoriously the worst month because people are on holidays, so it means the club's in a good place," he added. "We're starting to believe in something together and there's a collective focus on what we want to achieve from owners to decision makers to staff to fans to the community... everything.
"We're in one direction with where we want to go to. What we have to do is continue that because, as we keep saying, this is not our destination - we want this to be part of the journey. We're in a good moment, but good moments can come and go. We want to be constantly improving and that's the striving thing we have here."
The gaffer provided a positive update on the fitness of Will Mannion and Reece Burke.
"Will had a minor accident which stopped him, but he's back in full training," Jones explained. "We've had Reece Burke back in training this week. We're in a relatively better position than we were, albeit we're in quite a good position anyway."
Asked for an update on the transfer front, Jones said: "We want to add at least one more body. We know the position that we need and to do that we want to make sure that our numbers are good. The club have been amazing in backing us and they've trusted us to then loan players out to keep developing the asset, and we've done that. If they're not going to impact us now, it's important that we keep them moving forward and send them to the right clubs, and we feel we've done that."
