Lee and Shipley confirmed for Lennie Lawrence dinner

Robert Lee and George Shipley are the next names confirmed for for the 'Lennie Lawrence Dinner', hosted by the Charlton Athletic Ex-Players' Association at The Valley on Sunday, April 26th.

The duo will be in attendance as the club celebrates their legendary former boss and will be joined by the previously announced Peter Shirtliff, Steve Gritt, Colin Walsh, Jim Melrose, Mark Reid, Carl Leaburn and Mickey Bennett with more special guests to be announced in due course. 

Lee was handed his Addicks debut by Lawrence in 1983 at the age of 17 and went on to play 343 games for the club, scoring 65 goals and scooping the club's Player of the Year award in 1991, as well as the Young Player of the Year award in 1984.  

Shipley was brought to Charlton by Lawrence in 1985 and played a key part in the Addicks' promotion-winning side to the top flight alongside Lee, as well as helping secure the club's status in the First Division the following season via the inaugural play-off campaign. 

In total, Shipley played 74 times for the Addicks, scoring six goals. 

Guests will enjoy a two-course dinner and a live Charlton-themed auction during what promises to be a truly memorable evening, which will feature a special tribute in honour of Lawrence, who successfully managed the Addicks between 1982 and 1991.
