Academy graduate Micah Mbick marked his first professional start with his first league goal for Colchester United over the weekend.
The highly-rated 18-year-old bagged the U's equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Bristol Rovers at the JobServe Community Stadium.
"At home, in front of the fans, we really wanted the three points, but it's a great moment for me and something that I want to keep doing and keep experiencing," Mbick told Col U TV.
The in-form Daniel Kanu made it three goals in as many games for Walsall, who ran out 4-2 victors against Tranmere Rovers at the Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium. The Saddlers now sit third in Sky Bet League Two having won four of their last five league outings.
Elsewhere in the fourth tier, Kaheim Dixon came on as a 53rd-minute substitute in Crawley Town's 4-0 defeat at Notts County.
Nathan Asiimwe played the entirety of AFC Wimbledon's 2-1 victory over Doncaster Rovers at the Eco-Power Stadium. That result leaves Johnnie Jackson's side just one point adrift of the Sky Bet League One play-off places.
Gassan Ahadme was a 68th-minute substitute in second-placed Stevenage's 2-1 triumph at home to Exeter City, while Alex Mitchell and Terry Taylor both started as Plymouth and Northampton Town suffered defeats against Peterborough United and Wycombe Wanderers respectively.
U21s defender Toby Bower came on as a half-time substitute in Farnborough's 1-0 reverse at Hemel Hempstead.
Academy graduate Patrick Casey has returned to the club following a 28-day loan spell at Maidstone United.
