Lucas Ness has been named Charlton supporters' January Player of the Month, presented by Castore.

The centre-back was presented with the award by Manager Dean Holden on the morning of Tuesday, February 7th - his 21st birthday - having burst onto the scene and impressed with his brave defending and his composure on the ball.

Ness, who played every minute of all five matches across the month, starred as the Addicks claimed three league wins out of four and helped his side keep a clean sheet against sixth-placed Barnsley.

The defender said: "I'm absolutely buzzing to receive this award. The fans have been nothing but supportive ever since I came into the first team. To get this recognition is massive and hopefully I can continue in the right direction."

Ashley Maynard-Brewer came second with 32 per cent, while Scott Fraser finished third with 20 per cent.

The Addicks return to The Valley on Saturday, February 11th to take on Fleetwood Town (3pm KO GMT). Click here to purchase your tickets.
