TEAM NEWS

The Addicks return to The Valley this Sunday as we welcome Crystal Palace for our final game of the 2022/23 season (KO 2pm BST).

Karen Hills’ side will look to return to winning ways on the final day, having suffered a disappointing 4-0 defeat on the road to Bristol City last Sunday, as the Robins secured promotion to the top flight at Ashton Gate.

Charlton head into the clash with the guarantee of a fourth place finish and will aim to maintain their 100% win record at The Valley since becoming a full-time professional outfit.

THE OPPOSITION

Mike Lowne’s side will look to build on from their triumph last Sunday, hoping to secure back-to-back wins in the league following their 4-1 win over Lewes at the weekend. Three first-half strikes from Molly-Mae Sharpe, Hollie Olding and Coral-Jade Haines and a 100th-minute strike from Rianna Dean saw Crystal Palace secure the three points at Hayes Lane.

The visitors have been in steady form recently, only losing two of their last six games in the Championship. They currently sit sixth in the league table, and a win could see them climb into fifth depending on results elsewhere.

Crystal Palace

HEAD-TO-HEAD

The two teams previously locked horns in the Continental Cup group stages back in January 2023 with Emma Follis opening the scoring for the Addicks in the 75th minute, before Taylor Bell extended Charlton’s lead in additional time to secure a 2-0 victory on derby day.

Charlton head into the tie with the opportunity to do the league double over our rivals following a 2-1 win in the reverse tie at Selhurst Park back in November 2022. A hard-fought victory saw Hills’ side walk away with the three points as Emily Simpkins and Melissa Johnson both etched their name onto the scoresheet, their first-half strikes cancelling out Felicity Gibbons’ goal just after the hour mark.
