Ben Garner confirmed in his Friday press conference that one unnamed player is set to miss Saturday’s trip with a minor niggle.

The Addicks will also be without Diallang Jaiyesimi (ankle) and Miles Leaburn (ankle).

Matthew Pennington (groin) is expected to return for the hosts, while Coventry City loanee Julien Da Costa (hernia) has returned to training.

George Nurse (knee) and Daniel Udoh (knee) are both long-term absentees for Shrews.

Shrewsbury currently sit eighth in the Sky Bet League One table - two points and two places above Charlton. Only goal difference separates Salop from the play-off positions.

Like the Addicks, Steve Cotterill’s side come into the clash seeking a third win on the spin having claimed back-to-back victories over MK Dons and Fleetwood Town.

Charlton and Shrewsbury have gone toe-to-toe on 29 previous occasions with the Addicks winning nine, Salop 11 and the remaining nine encounters resulting in draws.

The last meeting between the two sides came at The Valley in the penultimate fixture of the 2021/22 campaign, with second-half strikes from Jayden Stockley and Chuks Aneke earning Charlton a 2-0 triumph.

Sebastian Stockbridge will be the man in the middle on Saturday. The official last refereed a Charlton fixture in January – a 1-1 draw at Cheltenham Town.

Stockbridge will be assisted by Oliver Bickle and Joe Simpson, while Alex Gray is the Fourth Official.

The Addicks will be donning their home kit in Shropshire.

Tickets will be available to purchase on the day from Shrewsbury’s Ticket Office.
