Record number of tickets sold for Birmingham City clash

'

Charlton Athletic Women's final league fixture against Birmingham City on Saturday (KO 3pm BST) will be the highest attended home game at The Valley in over 20 years.

This weekend’s crowd will eclipse the FA Cup quarter-final against Liverpool in April, when more than 2,164 supporters turned out in SE7.

The last time The Valley saw a crowd of such stature for a women’s match was in 2003, when they faced Arsenal in the Women’s Premier League—making Saturday’s clash with Birmingham City their best-attended home fixture in over two decades.

After a battling draw away to Southampton on Sunday, Karen Hills' side have regained top spot in the WSL2 table, a point ahead of Saturday's opponents, Birmingham, and south-east London neighbours, Crystal Palace.
