Report calculates CACT's social value as over £83m

-

Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) can confirm the publication of their latest Impact Report, revealing that the charity generated an impressive £83,630,780 in social value across south-east London and Kent over a one-year period.

This means that for every £1 invested, CACT delivered £11.02 of social value, providing a powerful demonstration of the far-reaching community impact which is delivered by the charity.

The social value figure, which has risen by more than £34 million since the previous impact report for 2021/22, has been independently verified by the University of Greenwich, ensuring robust and credible measurement of CACT’s positive outcomes.

Founded in 1992, Charlton Athletic Community Trust has grown from a small community arm of Charlton Athletic Football Club into an award-winning charity recognised nationally for its innovation, quality and scale. Working across health, education, employment, youth provision, disability and community engagement, CACT has embedded itself as one of the leading football club community organisations in the country.

Over the decades, CACT has forged deep partnerships with local authorities, health providers, schools and grassroots organisations. Their work now spans from early-years interventions and targeted mentoring to specialist disability sport programmes and major public-health initiatives.

This year’s Impact Report demonstrates not only CACT’s reach but also the measurable difference the Trust continues to make in people’s lives.

CACT CEO, Jason Morgan MBE, said: “I’m delighted that our social value figure has risen by more than £34million since our last measurement for 2021/22 and that’s testament to the hard work of all our staff and the support of our key stakeholders and partners.

“While the statistics alone can never capture the full stories behind them, the social value calculation provides evidence of the difference we are able to make.

“Behind that figure are thousands of individuals whose lives have been improved, whether through better physical and mental health, greater confidence and aspiration, or increased opportunities to participate, learn and thrive. The social value assessment reinforces the importance of long-term work and the unique role that a trusted community organisation like CACT can play in delivering it.

“None of this would be possible without the dedication of our staff, volunteers, trustees and supporters, nor without the continued collaboration of local authorities, health partners, schools, and, of course, Charlton Athletic Football Club. I am deeply grateful for the belief in our mission and for the shared commitment we hold to strengthening our communities.”

CACT’s vital work across south-east London and Kent wouldn’t be possible without voluntary donations.

Friends of CACT gives supporters the chance to back the Trust’s award-winning community work through regular monthly donations.

From as little as £10 per month, supporters can sign up to become a Friend of CACT and help the Trust continue to deliver life-changing programmes in health improvement, education, youth engagement and inclusion across South East London and Kent.

To recognise the generosity of supporters, a series of tiered benefits are available depending on the level of monthly donation.
