Charlton's U21s kick off their 2022/23 Professional Development League campaign at Burnley on Monday afternoon (2pm KO).

The young Addicks concluded their pre-season campaign with a comprehensive 4-0 triumph over Crystal Palace, thanks to strikes from Euan Williams, Lucas Ness and a Daniel Kanu brace.

With former Senior Professional Development Lead Coach Anthony Hayes having been promoted to the men's first-team's coaching staff, Senda has prepared the U21s for the forthcoming season.

And speaking ahead of Monday's clash against the Clarets, Senda said: "We have been incredibly fortunate that Valley Gold gave us the opportunity to take the group away to Lilleshall on tour. We were able to go and play Leicester City whilst we were away and also got some really good work into the players, both on and off the pitch.

"I must thank Valley Gold for their support and enabling us to do that as that has given the foundations to start the season. Going up to Burnley, all the preparations have been very good and now our attention is turned to the first day of the season. We travel to Burnley which is a difficult start, but it is a start that we are looking forward to.

“We have picked up one or two knocks along the way, though not too many which was pleasing. We have got to the end of pre-season and only lost one player. Unfortunately Nathan Harvey picked up an injury in the game against Leicester so Nathan has a period of time to recover.

"Other than Nathan, we have got a fresh bill of health and we should be able to travel to Burnley with a fully fit squad."
