Charlton's U21s suffered a 2-1 defeat against Huddersfield Town at Sparrows Lane on Tuesday afternoon.

The visitors were given a golden opportunity to take an early lead when Ethan Brown was penalised for handball after 15 minutes. Jay way stepped up for the Terriers and duly converted past Finley Woodham.

At the other end, Kaheim Dixon fired wide for the young Addicks after being freed down the left by Sam Washington-Amoah.

Sway doubled his and Huddersfield's tally just 12 minutes later, beating Woodham with a well-taken strike from the edge of the box.

Charlton halved the deficit on 66 minutes through Ty Ewens-Findlay, who headed home a deep free-kick.

Chris Lock's side continued to push for parity in the latter stages of the game, but the Terriers' defence held firm to claim the points.

The U21s are back in action on Monday when they travel to the Coventry Building Society Arena (KO 1pm GMT).
