U21 REPORT | Fulham 4 Charlton 2

The Addicks’ U21s fell to a 4-2 defeat against Fulham at Motspur Park in the Premier League Cup on Friday.

Dylan Gavin and Daniel Kanu were both on the scoresheet in west London as Hamza Serrar’s side took a 2-1 lead into the break, though the Whites struck back in the second period to claim their fifth consecutive Group A triumph.

The hosts went ahead on 21 minutes through Olly Sanderson, who slotted home after latching onto Luc De Fougerolles’ through ball.

After Sylvester Jasper had rattled the crossbar from a free-kick, the young Addicks restored parity on 35 minutes when Gavin rocketed in a curling strike off the inside of the post.

Charlton then took the lead three minutes before the break as Kanu stormed through and rounded Michael Allen to fire his side ahead.

Fulham equalised in the 65th minute when Jasper smashed a left-footed shot past Henry Molyneux at his near post.

With 12 minutes left, the hosts made it 3-2 as Adrion Pajaziti’s corner led to a scramble and eventually went in off Harris O’Connor.

Connor McAvoy made an incredible block on the line to keep the Whites’ lead intact but Fulham sealed the victory in added time through Matt Dibley-Dias, who tapped home from close range.
