U21s squad update ahead of 2025/26 campaign

Charlton Athletic can provide the following men’s U21s squad update ahead of the upcoming 2025/26 campaign.

Defenders Toby Bower and Ollie Hobden have both signed contract extensions with the Addicks, while Ty Ewens-Findlay, Max Kuczynski and Paris Lock have joined the club.

Youngsters Ethan Brown, Reuben Reid, Jacob Safa and Manu Wales have all penned their first professional contracts with the club following impressive seasons.

Academy Manager Tom Pell said: "Firstly, I would like to congratulate all of the boys for being offered a professional contract here at Charlton Athletic.

"For Ollie and Toby, it is a great reward for them after two full seasons in the U21s to be offered new contracts, as they look to bridge the gap between academy and senior football. We will do all we can to support them in what will be a really important next stage of their young professional careers, and transition to senior football.

"For Ethan, Jacob and Manu to be offered their first professional contract after successful scholarships is always a really special moment for them and their families after all the hard work throughout their two years in the full-time programme. Combining their football development with their academic studies is something that should not be taken lightly and we are really proud of the progress they have made both on and off the pitch. All three players will form part of our U21s squad and will be looking to impact the team at the earliest opportunity given they have all experienced playing U21s football during their U18s season.

"Bringing new players into the academy is always exciting and to do this within the U21s squad is great. We work a lot on identifying the right characters, players that align with our player profiles, and those that we feel ultimately have the potential to impact our men's first-team squad in the coming years, and therefore it gives me great pleasure to welcome Ty, Max and Paris to the club.

"Ty joins us from Cambridge United and Max from Arsenal, both whom ply their trade as central defenders. Paris joins us from AFC Wimbledon after a number of successful non-league Loans and will compliment our exciting attacking options.

"Last but by no means least, Reuben Reid has signed his first professional contract at the club. At only 17, Reuben has signed a three-year contract and we are delighted to have secured his services. Reuben is a player who will excite The Valley faithful for sure and we are hopeful he can continue to show his potential on a consistent basis with the U21s this season.

"We speak a lot about offering our players high challenge and high support, and this is exactly what our players will experience. As the football club continues to progress, we need to ensure we continue to offer Nathan Jones and his staff players who are capable of playing at the very highest level in the future, but can also contribute towards a winning team now. I am confident our supporters will see the next group emerge in the Sky Bet Championship this season, and hopefully those above can follow in their footsteps."
