The Charlton women’s team have made their first signing of the summer, with highly-rated central midfielder Chloe Brunton-Wilde joining from Arsenal.
The 19-year-old re-joins the Addicks having originally come through the club’s youth academy before leaving for the north London side four years ago.
Now back in south London, Brunton-Wilde is looking forward to the challenge of the season ahead.
“Being here before, I know what the facilities are like and I know what they can offer me,” she said. “I know that it will be good for me to come back and hopefully help them move up and develop my game as well.
“I can’t wait to start training. Watching the girls train [last week] and not training was hard but it was good to see everyone again. The girls and everyone were very welcoming.”
Originally starting her career at Colchester United, the young midfielder already has some notable silverware on her CV, having won two of three FA Development League Cup Finals in the past four years.
Charlton women’s team manager Riteesh Mishra is very pleased to make his first signing of the season.
He said: “She’s going to add good pedigree [to the team] and she has good mobility. She likes to get on the football and play, so I’m really excited about her arrival.”
Chloe’s first interview is available to watch here on Valley Pass.
