The Valley plays host to Pep Guardiola's Manchester City

Charlton Athletic were delighted to welcome Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City to The Valley on Sunday, fresh from their 1-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion in the FA Cup semi-final a day earlier.

Guardiola’s side are enjoying a week-long stay in the capital after opting against making the 400-mile round trip from Manchester twice in four days.

A Champions League quarter-final clash at Tottenham Hotspur’s brand-new, state-of-the-art stadium follows a Wembley triumph that booked the Citizens a place in this year’s FA Cup final and brings them closer to their second piece of silverware this season.

Phil Foden, Leroy Sane and Sergio Aguero were among the group of players that took to The Valley’s famous turf yesterday as City fine-tune their preparations for what will be a crucial game in their bid to win an unprecedented quadruple.
