REPORT | Swindon Town 2 Charlton 2

A 90th minute equaliser denied Charlton three away points as Lee Bowyer's team drew 2-2 at The County Ground.

Omar Bogle and Chuks Aneke scored either side of half-time as the Addicks bounced back from 1-0 down but Brett Pitman's late header proved a cruel blow.

Bowyer opted for an unchanged team from the one that started last week's 5-2 win against AFC Wimbledon at The Valley.

In an even opening spell, Conor Washington came closest when he curled an eighth minute shot just past the post.

The home side took the lead when Dion Conroy found Diallang Jaiysemi who used an overlapping runner as a distraction, cutting inside and powering a finish past Ben Amos.

The Addicks kept pestering and Marcus Maddison saw a shot blocked into the grateful arms of Matej Kovar before Bogle had a shot from outside the area blocked behind.

Charlton got their rewards in the 37th minute when Ian Maatsen found Bogle behind the Swindon defence. The striker rounded the keeper and stabbed home, despite what looked like a desperation foul from Kovar. Bogle could have doubled his tally minutes later but hit just wide when from a good goalscoring position.

Just before the half Bogle drilled another effort over the bar and the two sides went in level 1-1 at half-time.

Bogle made way for Aneke at the break and it took the striker just 16 minutes to score his seventh of the season. Conor Washington got in behind the Swindon defence and unselfishly squared to Aneke who passed into the empty net from just inside the six-yard box.

Bowyer continued to utilise his bench, bringing on Ben Purrington and Adam Matthews as wing backs as the Addicks moved from a diamond formation to a back three.

The Addicks continued to create chances with Aneke’s shot from just inside the area with 14 minutes remaining straight at Kovar and Alex Gilbey blazing over.

At the other end Amos was relatively untested until Pitman's looping header from a Siwndon corner in the 90th minute, as the two sides shared the points.
