Bowyer: "The disappointing thing is that we’ve left with one point, because we should have won that game comfortably"

Lee Bowyer bemoaned two dropped points as the Addicks conceded a late equaliser to draw 2-2 with Swindon Town.

Omar Bogle and Chuks Aneke scored, as the Addicks bounced back from going 1-0 down and despite Ben Amos not having a save to make in the second half, Charlton were stung by a late Brett Pitman header.

Speaking after the game Bowyer said: “It was hugley disappointing. There is no way we should be leaving here with one point. The chances we created second half, we should have scored three or four goals, our decision-making has cost us today. Wrong decisions, passing when we should be shooting, shooting when we should be passing. There was one time, we had a break, we had six v two or six v three in our favour, there is no way we should let them off like that.

“We just weren’t clinical enough in front of goal. If you don’t take your chances then that can always happen. We were comfortable, then we just have to see it out and again we’ve dropped another two points.

“The most important thing when you come to places like this is that you leave with three points, sometimes it is going to be pretty, sometimes it isn’t. At times it was a bit of a battle, the disappointing thing is that we’ve left with one point and not three because we should have won that game comfortably.

"We should have been scoring more goals today and we didn't. Fair play to them, they kept going and got their reward with the set-piece at the end."
