MATCH PREVIEW | Charlton v Ipswich Town

Charlton return to Sky Bet League One action in SE7 on Tuesday night (7.45pm) for another #FillTheValley clash, with Ipswich Town the visitors.

The Addicks will be targeting a return to winning ways in the third tier, having fallen to a late defeat on the road at Shrewsbury Town last time out.

With another bumper Valley crowd expected, supporters are advised to arrive at the ground at least 45 minutes before kick-off.

TEAM NEWS

Johnnie Jackson confirmed in Monday’s pre-match press conference that he expects club captain Jason Pearce (knee) to be available, though revealed Corey Blackett-Taylor (hamstring) will not feature having sustained a minor niggle against Aston Villa U21s last week.

Adam Matthews (calf), Sam Lavelle (groin), Ryan Inniss (quad) and Jake Forster-Caskey (ACL) are also unavailable.

George Edmundson (Achilles) will be assessed by the visitors having missed his side’s FA Cup tie last weekend, while Bersant Celina also missed out with an unspecified injury.

THE OPPOSITION

Ipswich travel to the capital under the stewardship of interim boss John McGreal, having dismissed manager Paul Cook on Saturday following a goalless draw at home to Barrow in the FA Cup.

The Tractor Boys currently sit 11th in League One - with seven wins, six draws and seven defeats in their 20 league outings this term - and boast the division's third top scorer in Macauley Bonne (11).

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Charlton and Ipswich have squared off on 54 previous occasions with the Addicks winning 19, the Tractor Boys 23 and the remaining 12 encounters resulting in draws.

The last meeting came at The Valley in April as the sides played out a goalless stalemate.
