Tracey Leaburn on the importance of International Women's Day

As we celebrate International Women’s Day, Head of Player Care Tracey Leaburn has praised Charlton’s one club feel.

International Women’s Day is a worldwide celebration of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women - with this year’s theme to collectively #BreakTheBias.

Leaburn told CharltonTV: “International Women’s Day shows the importance of women working in any industry and being recognised for it.

“When I first started my role just over six and a half years ago I was the first female player liaison officer in the first-team. I think it’s important that we break through in different areas where it’s very male-dominated.

“At Charlton we are one club,” she continued.

“No woman should think that they can’t go into any industry. It’s so important that they believe in themselves and they see other women in positions that, if they’re at school, make them think, ‘that’s where I want to be’. They should be supported to know that they can do anything they want to do.”
