Kian Eyers

After developing his game with CACT’s Post-16 Football and Education Academy, Kian Eyers signed a full-time contract with National League side Sutton United’s academy. During his two years with CACT, goalkeeper Kian completed a Level 3 Sports Diploma while competing in the U19 National League, as well as the Kent Youth League Premier U18, U23 and reserves leagues.

“I joined CACT’s Post-16 Football and Education Academy because I didn’t want to continue my education at school. When I saw that I could play football full-time and train several times a week alongside studying, I thought joining the programme was a no-brainer,” Kian said. “Being part of the Post-16 Academy gave me access to high-quality goalkeeper training every week, which massively improved my game. This helped me earn an opportunity with Sutton United, as well as multiple academy trials.

“The best part of being in CACT’s Post-16 Academy is playing regularly against high-quality opposition. Being part of the programme gives you a very good opportunity to improve your football, and it also gives you the chance to be seen by the Charlton Academy and other professional clubs.

“Since leaving CACT’s Post-16 Academy, I’ve signed a full-time paid contract with Sutton United’s U19s and have already had opportunities to be involved with the first team.”
