Ardmore, a family-owned construction group, and their partners and staff have donated £10,000 towards food for children and young people on free school meals.
Their donation to the Champions for Children in aid of Charlton Athletic Community Trust’s (CACT’s) summer holiday camps will be matched by the Childhood Trust and a generous supporter of CACT, bringing the total raised in just over a week to £20,970.
The funds will help provide meals for children eligible for free school meals over the summer holidays.
Those eligible will be offered breakfast and a cooked lunch while taking part in a range of fun, active, educational activities.
Ardmore Managing Directors, Pat and Cormac Byrne, said:

“I have been blown away by the enthusiasm, commitment, and generosity shown by Ardmore staff and supply chain partners to help CACT provide nutritious meals and healthy activities to Greenwich families. It’s a real testament to the community spirit and determination of our teams to give something back to the communities we work with.”

“We’re incredibly grateful to Ardmore and everyone who donated to this campaign. Many families are struggling to feed their children during school holidays.
“A lot of these children would get free school meals in term-time and the extra expense can be a struggle for some families, especially in the longer summer holiday.
“These donations will pay for breakfast and lunch for many of these children and young people in our local community this summer.”
