Young people on Charlton Athletic Community Trust’s (CACT’s) traineeship programme recently visited ITRM for a workshop.

ITRM, CACT’s Principal Partner, delivered a workshop focusing on customer service, an important skill for young people seeking employment.

The CACT traineeship is a 12-week programme for young people aged 16-25. Participants undertake functional skills training and employability & job searching skills workshops, and complete a 100-hour work experience placement.

Niz Miah, CACT’s Education Manager, said:

“Thank you so much to Sue and everyone at ITRM for hosting this workshop for our trainees.

“Providing opportunities and an insight into ITRM’s operations will be invaluable to raising aspirations and building the confidence of these young people.”

Sue Thorpe, ITRM’s Business Operations Manager, who led the workshop, said:

“One of my responsibilities as the Business Operations Manager at ITRM is Customer Satisfaction. I am passionate about delivering a first-class customer experience, so being asked to deliver this workshop to the CACT trainees was music to my ears.

“The group engaged early on in the workshop and participated well, taking on board the key messages I had to share with them and standing them in good stead when they apply for jobs and start their careers.

“At ITRM, our MD Dave White genuinely cares about the customer experience and his ethos cascades throughout the business and is in our DNA.”

Callum, one of the trainees who took part in the workshop, said:

“What I learned from meeting ITRM was problem solving and to be confident with how you talk to others.”
