Charlton Athletic players Jordan Botaka and Brandon Hanlan joined with parents of murdered Jimmy Mizen to take an anti-street violence message to Woolwich Common youth hub.
Margaret and Barry Mizen led a workshop for 40 young people to tell the story of how their 16 year old son, Jimmy, lost his life to youth violence.
Charlton Athletic players Jordan Botaka and Brandon Hanlan also spoke to the youngsters, discussing how street violence had shaped their own lives.
The event was part of the English Football League (EFL)’s ‘Community Day of Action’ which saw all 72 Clubs come together on Tuesday 25 April to showcase the excellent work that they do in their local communities.
The Community Day of Action gave an opportunity for all EFL clubs to simultaneously deliver their best initiatives and highlight the difference they have made to over one million people this season in communities nationwide.
