Five Addicks were spread around Europe in March, involved in the Women’s World Cup Qualification.

Ellie Mason – Northern Ireland

Ellie Mason played the full 90 minutes for Northern Ireland in their 2-0 loss to Switzerland in Lausanne. Despite the loss, Mason put in a strong defensive performance and almost snatched an equaliser late in the game when the score was 1-0, but her half-chance sadly went past the post.

Mason also played the full 90 when Northern Ireland lost 1-0 to Turkey in a scrappy game at Mourneview Park.

Mia Ross & Mary McActeer – Wales

The Dragons’ bid to reach the 2027 Women's World Cup started dramatically, with a 93rd-minute equaliser, which saw the game finish 2-2 away at the Czech Republic. Mia Ross came on in the 82nd minute in the heart of the Wales midfield and helped her team salvage a point and kick off their journey to Brazil.

She then started the second game against Montenegro, playing the full match in the back line as Wales romped to a 6-1 win, getting an assist as she lobbed a second ball across the goal for Sophie Ingle to get her head on and make it 4-0.

Mary McAteer was an unused substitute in the first game, but played the final 23 minutes against Montenegro.

Charlotte Newsham – Scotland

Scotland won 5-0 away to Luxembourg in an emphatic performance. Charlotte Newsham came on after 73 minutes for her Scotland debut and, 15 minutes later, got her first assist when she cut inside to loft in a ball from deep that found Kathleen McGovern in the box, who finished smartly.

Newsham was then given her first start in the next game, playing 61 minutes against the same opposition, which they won 7-0.

Sophie Whitehouse – Republic of Ireland

Sophie Whitehouse was an unused substitute for the Republic of Ireland in their 2-1 defeats against France and the Netherlands.

Against France, Ireland went one up before they fell to two goals in the span of 10 minutes late on and had a last-gasp effort cleared off the line. Against the Dutch, a Katie McCabe penalty brought the teams level before Lineth Beerensteyn scored the winner in the 82nd minute.
