Drinking in view of the pitch confirmed for 2026/27 in the WSL

When fans take to their seats to enjoy Charlton Women's journey in the Barclays WSL for the 2026/27, they will be able to enjoy all the action with an alcoholic drink in hand.

The WSL piloted the scheme during the second half of the 2024/25 season and expanded it for 2025/26 across 20 clubs, 29 venues and 190 fixtures.

As of now, the decision has been made (with shareholder approval) to remove the ruling in the League Competition Regulations relating to the consumption of alcohol in view of the pitch.

Charlton successfully trialled allowing alcoholic drinks into the stands during the tail end of the 2025/26 WSL2 season and now can confirm that drinking in view of the pitch has been approved for The Valley for the whole of the next WSL season.

For each game, there will also be a designated alcohol-free section. These sections will be marked on the website for fans when purchasing tickets.

You (with a drink in hand) can be part of Charlton Women's first season in the Barclays WSL by purchasing your season ticket and securing your seat through the link below.
