Charlton Athletic are delighted to announce that 2022/23 joint Golden Boot winner Melissa Johnson has signed a new one-year deal with the club.
The prolific centre-forward puts pen to paper having netted 12 goals in the Women’s Championship last term to share the league's golden boot award with London City’s Sarah Ewens.
Johnson has enjoyed spells across the Women’s Championship with Leicester City and Aston Villa, where she enjoyed great success. During her time with the Villans, Johnson played a vital role in helping the side secure promotion to the top-flight in 2019/20 and was the side's top scorer.
Johnson is relishing the opportunity to pull on the Charlton kit once again. She said: "I am so grateful to be here. I enjoyed last season and I'm looking forward to achieving more this season. I'm ready to give everything to the group and the fans."
