Jones and Bree shortlisted for Championship awards

Nathan Jones and James Bree have been nominated for September's Sky Bet Championship Manager and Player of the Month awards.

The pair have been recognised following an unbeaten month for the Addicks, which included a 1-0 win at Sheffield United, a 3-0 victory at home to Blackburn Rovers and draws with Millwall and Derby County.

Jones has been shortlisted alongside Paul Heckingbottom (Preston North End), Kieran McKenna (Ipswich Town) and Julien Stéphan (Queens Park Rangers).

Bree, who was also nominated for September's PFA Fans' Championship Player of the Month award, has enjoyed an outstanding first month as an Addick, contributing two clean sheets, two assists and two goals - including a rasping finish to a team goal at Derby County.

The defender is competing with Barry Bannan (Sheffield Wednesday), Oli McBurnie (Hull City) and Jaden Philogene (Ipswich Town) for the accolade.

The Manager of the Month award will be decided by a judging panel comprising former Barnsley Manager Danny Wilson, Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies. The Player of the Month award will also be judged by Goodman and Davies, along with EFL Chief Executive Trevor Birch.

Winners will be announced on Friday, October 10th.
