Jones and Carey complete ever-present campaigns

'

Lloyd Jones and Sonny Carey have both completed ever-present seasons for the Addicks, having featured in all 46 Sky Bet Championship fixtures across the 2025/26 campaign.

Their consistency and availability across the season sees them become the men's first-team's first ever-present players in five years since Ben Amos completed the feat back in the 2020/21 season.

Historically, being labelled an ever-present is more commonly associated with goalkeepers. The milestone is even more significant when considering outfield players. The last outfield player to feature in every league game for Charlton Athletic was Matt Holland back in the 2003/04 campaign, making Jones and Carey the first two outfield players to match that achievement for over 20 years.

It is also the first time in 27 years - and the first in this millennium - that the Addicks have had two outfield ever-presents in a single campaign. Not since Chris Powell and Mark Kinsella in 1998/99 have two players at the club matched this feat.

Jones and Carey now join a select group of players to have achieved ever-present status for Charlton since the club turned professional in 1921/22.

The outfield players to have achieved this status are: Lloyd Jones, Sonny Carey, Matt Holland, Mark Kinsella, Chris Powell, Darren Pitcher, John Humphrey, Paul Williams, Mark Reid, John Pearson, Les Berry, Kevin Dickenson, Carl Harris, Terry Naylor, Leighton Phillips, Colin Powell, Mike Flanagan, Jimmy Giles, Arthur Horsfield, Paul Went, Phil Warman, Alan Campbell, Harry Gregory, Peter Reeves, Billy Bonds, Brian Kinsey, Roy Matthews, John Sewell, Dennis Edwards, Sam Lawrie, Johnny Summers, Stuart Leary, Gordon Hurst, Benny Fenton, Cyril Hammond, Frank Lock, Chris Duffy, Harold Hobbis, George Robinson, Jack Horton, Albert “Sammy” Langford, Norman Smith.

The goalkeepers to have achieved this status are: Dillon Phillips, Ben Amos, Dean Kiely, Bob Bolder, Nicky Johns, Jeff Wood, Willie Duff, Sam Bartram, Peter Robertson, Fred Wood.

With the addition of Jones and Carey, the number of Charlton ever-presents now stands at 52, 42 of which have been outfield players.
