Lloyd Jones: "We love playing at The Valley"

'

Lloyd Jones is looking forward to playing in front of the Valley faithful again on Friday when the Addicks return to Sky Bet Championship action against Bristol City (KO 3pm BST).

"These international breaks are really nice and it's a good time to take a bit of time off and reset, and then get ready for the game on Friday," Jones explained.

"I've really enjoyed [playing in the Championship this season]. Obviously there's been some really good moments and some really tough ones, but I think I've relished playing in the Championship this year and I've thoroughly enjoyed it."

The centre-back has featured in every Sky Bet Championship fixture for the Addicks this season and has incredibly now won five consecutive club Player of the Month awards.

"I think the fans just appreciate someone who gives their all every game and works hard when they play for the club," said the 30-year-old. "That's something I always try and do."

"The fans make a massive difference. I almost wanted to flip it when we played Norwich because the sun was just in my eyes, but the difference it makes attacking that Covered End in the second half is huge."

Roy Hodgson will oversee his first game as Bristol City's Interim Head Coach on Friday following the departure of Gerhard Struber during the international break.

"We need to just focus on us really. They're going to do what they set out to on the day, but we'e got to focus on us like we've been doing all season and I'm sure that will take care of itself," Jones said.

"Different managers want different things and they set out to use different styles of play, but like I said we just need to focus on us.

"Every game we want to try and win, and we haven't picked up the points we've deserved in the last three home games - we deserved more," he added. "We love playing at The Valley and hopefully we can get off to a good start on Friday, get three points and then back it up away at Watford on Monday."
