Nathan Jones is expecting another tough Sky Bet Championship challenge on Boxing Day, as the Addicks travel to Carrow Road to take on Norwich City (KO 3pm GMT).
The gaffer spoke about the difficulties of the busy festive football schedule, and how he hopes to have a healthier squad in the coming weeks.
Jones said: "In every Championship game, you pick up bumps and bruises. We've had to evaluate everything. We've had a few to give a few more time on the grass and the others are recovering. Saturday was a real physical game, and hopefully everyone will come through the effects of that.
"We need people back, it's a brutal time of year the football fixture list, and we need to make sure we have everyone back as much as possible."
Jones revealed that a number of the injured players are very close to a return and added that he was pleased that Ashley Maynard-Brewer, Jérôme Roussillon and Ibrahim Fullah were able to get minutes during Monday's U21s fixture against Ipswich Town.
Looking ahead to Friday's trip to Norfolk, Jones said: "Norwich have a really good squad, they have some fantastic individuals. They are a wonderful football club.
"To see them [near the bottom of the league] has been a shock, and I'm sure they will show their quality across the 46-game season. We just need to make sure that doesn't affect us on Friday. They've got plenty of threats, so we have to make sure we're the best version of ourselves.
"It's a wonderful time of year," Jones added. "With great atmospheres, large crowds and for spending time with your loved ones, we look forward to it."
