Jones: 'We want to take momentum into the play-offs'

Nathan Jones wants to see his side bounce back against Burton Albion at The Valley on Saturday to carry momentum into their play-off campaign.

The Addicks' automatic promotion hopes were halted following defeat at the STōK Cae Ras last weekend.

"We know exactly what we've got to do now," explained Jones. "There's no ifs or buts - everything's in our hands. It's four games and if we win all four games then we know exactly where we'll be.

"We want to win the game and finish the season as high as we can, so you can see the progress from finishing 16th to fourth, fifth, third - whatever that is - has been really great progress. That's all we concentrate on.

"I would like to go into the play-off campaign on the back of a bounce back," he added. "I wouldn't want us to go in on the back of two defeats. We'll attack the game with exactly the same vigour, aggression and confidence that we've gone into most games because we want to take a little bit of momentum in."

Asked for an update on the team news front, the gaffer said: "What I have to do now is prepare the squad so that we can have a successful play-off campaign. That's the most important thing, so whatever I do on the weekend will be geared to making sure that the team are right at it for the play-off games."
