Jones: 'We're looking forward to being at home'

Nathan Jones is looking forward to being back at The Valley on Saturday as his side take on Sheffield Wednesday.

The Addicks have used the international break positively to give some players minutes and aid recovery for others.

"We've been getting people back on grass and working with them and those that have been playing big minutes have been resting up," said Jones. "We've had an in-house game and we've used the time wisely.

"Matty Godden is closer to returning and we've been able to get minutes into [Luke] Berry, [Harvey] Knibbs, and Will [Mannion].

"Josh [Edwards] has had a surgical procedure which was the best case scenario, speeding up the recovery process, but that is ongoing."

Amari'i Bell, Tyreece Campbell, Karoy Anderson and Kaheim Dixon were all away with Jamaica during the international break, while Conor Coventry was called up for the Republic of Ireland’s World Cup qualifier against Armenia.

"We're proud of our internationals," explained the gaffer. "They've all come back in good health which is the main thing, and we've been able to work on a few things."

Following two away games on the spin, Jones is relishing his side's return to SE7.

"Sheffield Wednesday fans always travel well. They’re an excellent football club, with good fans that can create a wonderful atmosphere. But it's a day where we're at home and we're looking forward to being at home after two away fixtures, and we have to maximise that."
