Paul Simpson's side ended a three-game losing run in midweek with a 2-0 win at home to Harrogate Town in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy.

In their last league outing, the Cumbrians suffered a 1-0 defeat against 10-man Bristol Rovers at Brunton Park courtesy of an own goal from former Addick Sam Lavelle.

Charlton and Carlisle have locked horns on 39 previous occasions with the Addicks winning 19, the Cumbrians eight and the remaining 12 clashes resulting in draws.

The last meeting between the two teams came at Brunton Park in April 2012, when Bradley Wright-Phillips fired Charlton to a 1-0 triumph that sealed promotion back to the Championship.

Leigh Doughty will oversee proceedings on Saturday. The official has taken charge of 12 fixtures so far this season, brandishing 52 yellow cards and two red cards.

Doughty will be assisted by Paul Hodskinson and Matthew Smith, while Paul Marsden has been appointed as the Fourth Official.
