MATCH PREVIEW | Charlton v Oxford United

'

The Addicks return to The Valley for the final time in 2025 on Saturday afternoon to host Oxford United in the Sky Bet Championship (KO 3pm GMT).

Nathan Jones’ side are looking to return to winning ways in the league after earning a point at Birmingham City last time out.

TEAM NEWS

Jones gave an encouraging squad update in his pre-match press conference. The gaffer said: "We're in a considerably better position than what we were. How many [injured players] can feature on Saturday is one thing, but they're filtering back now. We could get two players back for the weekend and we work on from there."

The visitors will be without Brodie Spencer (foot) and Cameron Brannagan (calf), though Przemysław Płacheta (calf), and Matt Phillips (thigh), could return.

THE OPPOSITION

Oxford currently sit in 22nd place in the Sky Bet Championship table, having taken 19 points from their opening 21 games.

Gary Rowett’s men lost 2-1 at home to third-placed Preston North End last time out in the league.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

The two sides have gone toe-to-toe on 52 occasions, with the Addicks winning 18, the U's winning 15 and the remaining 19 encounters ending in draws.

Oxford ran out 2-1 victors when the two sides last met back in January 2024, with Mark Harris and Oisin Smyth both netting for the visitors at The Valley.
