TEAM NEWS

The Addicks will check on the fitness of Steven Sessegnon (knee) and Chuks Aneke (hamstring) ahead of Saturday’s trip, though Joe Wollacott (finger), Mandela Egbo (quad) and Todd Kane (hamstring) are unavailable.

Meanwhile, the hosts will be without Kell Watts (hamstring), Joe Tomlinson (hamstring) and Oliver Norburn (knee) this weekend.

THE OPPOSITION

Darren Ferguson began his fourth spell as Peterborough boss with a 2-0 triumph at Port Vale in front of the Sky Sports cameras on Monday, thanks to Ephron Mason-Clark’s second-half brace.

That success saw Posh climb up to seventh in League One - just two points adrift of the coveted play-off places - and Ferguson will now be targeting a sixth career promotion and a fifth with Peterborough.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Charlton and Peterborough have clashed on 26 previous occasions with the Addicks winning nine, Posh 10 and the remaining seven encounters ending in draws.

The last meeting between the two sides came in the reverse fixture at The Valley on Boxing Day, when Jonson Clarke-Harris cancelled out Miles Leaburn’s opener to earn the visitors a share of the spoils.

MATCH OFFICIALS

Andrew Kitchen will oversee proceedings on Saturday. The official has never previously refereed a fixture involving Charlton.

Kitchen will be assisted by Michael George and Christopher Wade, while Stephen Finch is the Fourth Official.
