MATCH PREVIEW | Sheffield Wednesday v Charlton

'

Charlton return to Sky Bet League One action on Saturday afternoon as Ben Garner's men visit Sheffield Wednesday.

Buoyed by an unbeaten start to the 2022/23 campaign and a dramatic midweek penalty shootout triumph against Championship side Queens Park Rangers, the Addicks will be targeting their first three points on the road this weekend.

TEAM NEWS

Speaking in his Friday press conference, Garner confirmed new recruit Jesurun Rak-Sakyi will be part of travelling squad.

Conor McGrandles is available for the Addicks having passed the relevant concussion protocols, though Mandela Egbo (knee) and Chuks Aneke (calf) remain sidelined.

Former Addick Akin Famewo, who joined the Owls this summer, is unavailable for the hosts, while Lee Gregory (hamstring) will be assessed having been withdrawn in midweek.

Fellow forward Michael Smith, another former Addick, will also be monitored after missing Wednesday's last two matches with an undisclosed injury.

THE OPPOSITION

Sheffield Wednesday have also made an unbeaten start to the 2022/23 Sky Bet League One campaign, having followed up a thrilling 3-3 draw against Portsmouth on the opening day with a narrow 1-0 triumph at MK Dons to leave Darren Moore's side sat fourth.

The Owls come into this weekend's fixture on the back of a 2-0 victory over Sunderland in midweek Carabao Cup action, stretching their unbeaten Hillsborough run to 11 games.
