Charlton Athletic are delighted to announce the signing of experienced centre-back Elisha N'Dow on a season-long loan deal.
N'Dow joins the Addicks from Barclays Women's Super League (WSL) outfit Aston Villa. The 25-year-old spent the latter half of the 2021/22 season on loan in the second tier with Coventry United, helping the Midlands side avoid relegation.
The defender is eager to get going with the Addicks. She said: "It is great, I have been with the girls for a couple of days. It has been good getting to get to know the players and the staff, and now I am just excited to get going with the games.
"I have played against Charlton in recent years, at Coventry previously and before when Villa were in the Championship. They play the same style that I like and that is what has intrigued me most."
N'Dow joined Aston Villa at the age of 11 and progressed through the ranks, making her first team-debut at the age of 17. She has made over 150 first-team appearances for the Villans and has captained the side on a number of occasions.
The centre-back featured in all 14 fixtures during Villa’s promotion-winning 2019/20 season and missed just two matches in her inaugural WSL campaign.
“I am going to bring experience and knowledge of playing in the Championship previously," she said. "Playing for an Aston Villa side three seasons ago, getting them promoted and recently going to Coventry United and helping them in tougher times to get out of a relegation battle. I have experiences at both ends of the table that I can bring to the team."
There will be a few familiar faces in south London for N'Dow, with Aston Villa teammate Sian Rogers joining the club on loan earlier this summer and Melissa Johnson also signing for Karen Hills' side ahead of the new season.
"It is a big change for me moving from the Midlands down to London," she added. "I have actually moved in with Mel and Sian so having them nearby will help me settle in."
