On Tuesday, Joe Rankin-Costello and Emma Bissell visited St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School alongside Charlton Athletic Community Trust as part of the club's Schools Partnership Scheme.
Through its Schools Partnership Scheme, the club is partnered with over 50 schools in the Greenwich Borough and over 1,500 children have signed up to the scheme to create Addicks fans of the future.
As part of the Schools Partnership initiative, participating schools can benefit from player appearances, giving children the opportunity to build meaningful connections with the club.
Rankin-Costello and Bissell took part in a training session with the school's football teams to offer tips and advice to the pupils.
"We met all the children, and we did a fun training session," Bissell explained. "We talked them through some skills and then we finished with a Q&A. It was nice to speak to them and answer all of the questions that they had."
Rankin-Costello reflected on the importance of inspiring the next generation during the visit to St Patrick’s. He said: "I was a pupil once, and it's nice for them to see someone who has got to where they've got to, and that they can do it as well."
Schools Partnership visits will continue throughout the season at schools across the Greenwich Borough.
