TEAM NEWS | Maynard-Brewer returns for Man United tie

'

Ashley Maynard-Brewer will return to the starting lineup for tonight’s Carabao Cup quarter-final against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The Addicks stopper missed Saturday’s win against Lincoln City following concussion protocol but trained with his teammates yesterday and returns to the side in place of Craig MacGillivray.

It’s the only change Manager Dean Holden has made to the starting lineup, which means the Addicks will be fielding the same outfield that has recorded back-to-back wins in League One against Portsmouth and Lincoln.

It means Sean Clare, Ryan Inniss, Lucas Ness and Steven Sessegnon are likely to make up a back four in front of Maynard-Brewer.

Skipper George Dobson will man the midfield alongside Albie Morgan and Scott Fraser on the back of two goals in as many games.

The dangerous trio of Jes Rak-Sakyi, Miles Leaburn and Corey Blackett-Taylor, make up the front three, with the Addicks able to revert to a 4-5-1, with Leaburn as a lone striker should the game dictate.

MacGillivray is joined on the bench by Eoghan O’Connell, Sam Lavelle, Richard Chin, Aaron Henry, Jack Payne, Charlie Kirk, Diallang Jaiyesimi and Jayden Stockley.
