U18 REPORT | Colchester United 2 Charlton 4

'

Ibrahim Fullah scored a wondergoal as Charlton’s U18s earned a 4-2 win at Colchester United on Tuesday afternoon.

Mason Hunter, Ethan Brown and Micah Mbick were also on the scoresheet for Jason Pearce's side in Essex.

Samson Uwandu fired the U’s ahead on 34 minutes, lashing home from close range following a penalty-box scramble.

The young Addicks responded three minutes into the second period through captain Hunter, who rose highest to head home Fullah’s inswinging corner.

Fullah soon went from provider to goalscorer, receiving the ball from Harmony Okwumo on the left flank, driving forward and chopping inside before sending a sublime, curling effort into the top-right corner from 25 yards.

The hosts restored parity 13 minutes from time in fortuitous fashion as an effort ricocheted off goalkeeper Jude Sadler and found the back of the net.

However, Charlton responded superbly and regained their lead within five minutes courtesy of substitute Brown, who smashed the ball beyond Harrison Chamberlain after being teed up by Mikey Berry.

The prolific Mbick added a fourth in stoppage-time, showing excellent strength to hold off his defender before spinning and sending a left-footed strike in at the near post.
