Charlton’s U21s fell to a 4-1 defeat at AFC Bournemouth on Monday afternoon in the Professional Development League.
The Cherries started brightly, as they opened the scoring inside two minutes through Dominic Sadi.
Bournemouth struck again less than 10 minutes later when Michael Dacosta Gonzalez added a second.
Reuben Reid got the young Addicks back into the contest on 18 minutes, with a lovely curling shot that nestled into the top corner.
After weathering sustained pressure from Charlton, the hosts restored their two-goal cushion through Owen Bevan.
The Cherries finished the first half on a high as they took a 4-1 lead through Ethan Sills.
Charlton looked for a way to get themselves back in the game in the second half and had the ball in the net on two occasions, only to see both goals ruled out for offside.
Chris Lock's side are next in action on Friday, January 23rd as they take on QPR at the TSG Training Centre (KO 1.30pm GMT)
